Taxonomic notes: Section empty
This species is known only from the type locality on the slopes of Cerro Asuncion, Costa Rica, at 3300 m. The exact locality has since been built over for the PanAmerican Highway.
The only individual was found in a marshy area besides a pond. It may be semiarboreal and likely lives in shrubby and wooded habitats.
If this species is a high elevation specialist, climate change in the form of shifting habitat range may pose a threat in the future.
