Landfall Made After 18 Months And Over 2000kms

Drifting for 18 months from Sydney after capsizing, this boat finally made landfall on 4th March 2019 at Otaipango, Henderson Bay down by the third creek with this marine life alive at the time. Travelling in a straight line, this is approx 2,060kms.

When it made landfall, my neighbour came and got me and we went by quad down to the third creek - about 4kms down the beach. I had to wade out over a sand bar and across a chanel but as the boat had scoured out the sand underneath I was not game enough to go under to have a look, but earlier on in the day, they had taken shells out by getting a hand up and under - there was no scouring at that time.

What a wonderful niche project. Thanks @tangatawhenua for documenting the boat species.

Sadly my PC died that had more photos for this project, but I am hopeful I may be able to recover them - when I get around to testing my theory! :D
