The purpose of this project is to enhance our understanding of the distribution of Western pond turtles (WPT; Actinemys marmorata) in Oregon. Samara Group is coordinating this effort for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) and observations will be used to assist environmental review and conservation planning efforts. To learn more about ODFW efforts and needs to conserve WPT, please visit:
Oregon Conservation Strategy - Western Pond Turtle
To increase the value of your observations, please indicate the spatial accuracy and include additional comments. Observations should include data on how many individuals were observed, evidence of reproduction (WPT age classes observed), if basking structures are present, and any potential threats or competition in the area (other turtles and potential predators).
