Hi all and welcome to the Wildlife Sightings of Maine project.
I am excited to get started with this project and i look forward to the outcomes. I had the idea to use public wildlife sightings as a way to help monitor species one day when i realized how many of my friends post photos to their social media pages. I thought this method could be useful in species conservation especially species that are endangered or threatened. Its my plan to use the sighting data to formulate a research paper on the potential importance of public sightings of wildlife. So essentially crowd sourcing wildlife sightings.
