BIG Year Notes

Oct 1 - We have collected over 1300 observations covering 432 species. Though we are headed into winter, we have yet to really work on mosses, birds, lichens, trees, shrubs... we have lots of potential left in 2017! January through mid-April will certainly be lean. When we reach mid-April 2018, we will begin again to tally flowering plants and insects.

Oct 11 - We have surpassed the 500 species mark!

mid-Jan - we surpassed the 600 species mark. When will we reach 700? Will we exceed 1000 by the end of Aug 2018?

Apr 29 - We surpassed the 700 mark while participating in the CNC for the Twin Ports.

May 14 - We just surpassed the 800 mark. At this pace, we will easily exceed the 1000 mark.

Jun 4 - Now we have passed 900 species.

Jul 9 - We just exceeded 1000 species!!

Jul 27 - Exceeded 1100 this evening.
