Xylocopa virginica Wing Morph

Track the prevalence of a wing morph on Xylocopa virginica, the Eastern Carpenter bee across its range.

This morph is incredibly prevalent in St. Louis, Missouri and we want to see if it is found anywhere else.

It manifests itself as a clear section on the wing which varies in coverage of the wing.

The bees in this project are from systematically examining every X. virginica that was research grade by September 30th, 2021 and ones added haphazardly after that date. less ↑
