Founder and Co owner for 17 years of Axle Canyon Ecological Preserve, located in southwestern New Mexico. AXCP is a privately owned "natural" preserve where active projects to restore riparian habitat are in progress. The projects focus on water runoff management, reintroduction of native flora, sanctuary for wildlife and currently, field trials of ancient and indigenous grains for regional food autonomy. As of early 2023, Axle Canyon Ecological Preserve was handed off to the capable hands and fresh energy of new stewards.
