Overview
Northern Virginia based naturalist interested in the distribution and ecology of Lucanidae (Insecta: Coleoptera). Currently working on a characterization of the stag beetle, Lucanus elaphus, within Virginia based on observation data recorded here on iNaturalist.

If you see a Lucanidae in Virginia you might be seeing my name very soon - annotations on sex, life stage, and "alive or dead" are greatly appreciated.

I love being wrong because it helps me learn something new. If I have misidentified something please let me know what I got wrong so I can improve moving forward!

Trying to record my sighting lists on eBird

My data is in need of a little manicuring and I am currently working through a backlog of observations and specimen cataloging. There are also a series of Lucanidae identification keys that are under progress for my regional Lucanidae observation projects.
