Currently based out of the San Francisco Bay Area, but grew up in Houston and spent several years in Alabama. Interests are not limited to any particular taxon or locale, I'm mostly just trying to document as many observations as I can while I'm outdoors - usually diving, hiking, camping, fishing, capturing photons, or simply exploring nature.

PhD in chemical engineering, but I try to follow the research in the marine ecosystems of the west coast, with specific interests including the ability of the oceans to sink atmospheric carbon with kelp and other algae, as well as the recovery from the impacts of the recent sea star die-off.
