Visual Description: These seedless plants have long arm like leaves coming from a central steam. They align such that they look almost like a chain! They are bright green usually, and very pretty to see. These ones are pretty long, I would say about 1-2 feet long.
Defining Characteristics: As mentioned above, the leaves are aligned similarly to a chain. The chain shape is visual on all sides of the fern.
Habitat: These chain ferns were found in a woody habitat. They are native t west coast forests.

The frond of this organism is about 45cm to 60cm long, with green color. Each leaf is divided into several small pieces. From the top to the bottom the leaf gradually become longer, the longest leaf about 10cm to 15cm. This organism almost lives in moist habitat. Because of the shape of the leaf and the stalk, it belongs to the phylum Monilophyta. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christella_normalis

The organism was found at the New Tampa Nature Park. The organism was green with multiple pinna containing many individual pinnules. The organism was no more than a foot off the ground and it was hunched over at a slight angle. The organism was found in a shaded region with moist soil and water surrounding it in a forest habitat. This is a prime environment for seedless vascular plants as they need a moist wet environment to spread their spores. These organisms can range across the United States as long as a moist wooded environment is provided for them.
