Nehalem Bay State Park
I'd like to figure which species of pine this is.
Details:
2 needles per bundle, about 6 - 9 inches long, with pointy tips.
The cones grow in clusters and are about 6 inches long and have sharp points on the scales.
The weathered bark appears gray. It flakes off easily, and appears reddish when not weathered.
Monterey Pine (Pinus radiata) has been suggested. However, it is supposed to have needles in bundles of 3 with blunt tips, and the cones lack sharp points on the scales.
In large nesting area on Western boardwalk.
Three birds foraging actively. ID based on relatively straight bill profile, lack of yellow on bill, apparent shape of upper bill border at forehead,
Two recently fledged chicks waiting for parents to feed them

Spy hopping. The coyote wanted to keep an eye on me, but couldn't see over the grass, so it would hop straight up to catch a look.
