Need blue violet help!! Leaf stem woolly but flower stem is not. Upper leaf slightly woolly. Leaf shape seems similar to selkirki but lateral petals are bearded (only). Is papilionacea ( ref Peterson) not called such anymore? Flowers rise above the leaves.. but it's early in the season.. a little further away, in what i think is the same species, the leaves ( many leaves) and flowers were about equal in height. Found on the edge of a bike path, near a wetland, but also away from it uphill , along a disturbed area sometimes cut back/mowed in a field transitioning to forest.
Found near sewage pipeline. Has small needle like projections that burn when skin is subjected to it. See picture of area between my knuckles and first joints of fingers
