pondgators's Identifications

This hen... First she chased down and started biting a very small duckling, finally backing off when it went into the water and swam to be with its mom and siblings. THEN she later attacked that mama duck (photo #2), seemingly unprovoked. There were a couple of older ducklings in this pond, but they weren't associating with any adult duck in particular. Perhaps they belonged to this hen? Or maybe she had an unhatched nest nearby? Or perhaps she was just grumpy.
