Found at boat launch at Elk Lake in Itasca State Park. As far as I know these are not supposed to be here. Am I wrong about what this is?

At Heritage Park there was this lone rabbit sitting under a picnic table. I thought Jack Rabbit at first but Calgary seems to be out of their range and it didn't look much like a Snowshoe Hare so am taking a chance that someone left their grown-up Easter bunny there.
