Building a Project at Lazy R Ranch

I left teaching 1 year ago, and while I miss the students and some amazing colleagues I feel so much lighter, healthier and happier. I still have a great deal of interest in our public education system, and recognize that it is in great need of reevaluation. I will do what I can to help support teachers and students who are doing the best they can under the weight of bureaucracy and patriarchy.

For now, I am working on a variety of projects. One, is the creation of the Project in iNaturalist to document the flora and fauna at Lazy R Ranch in Marin county CA. This is my family home and ancestral lands of the Coast Miwok. I began this project in Spring of 2021. We are in progress of planning habitat and stream restoration on the property and so I will be monitoring the biodiversity there and documenting changes over time. Currently I am building the baseline for what is there prior to work beginning. This is range land and has been a dairy. Stemple Creek runs through the front (South) pasture.

I hope you enjoy the project. As I am still building my observations and the project I welcome all help with ID. Thank you so very much!
