Right after I took these pictures an unleashed dog came running from around the corner and chased the squirrel up a tree. I was genuinely scared for the squirrels safety

It will be on the right side . There are a lot on both sides so good for micro climate study. The one we tagged is right by the blue wooden stake on the ground. Very hard to miss, look for blue stake and you will find tag.

It will on the left hand side. Past a little arch made by a tree branch right at the start if the trail.
It's right next to the western red ceder.
There's two logs by it.
There is only a small cluster, not good for micro climate research

Not much point to this field. Naming the species is part of the observation identification process. It can only be confusing to have this additional field with yet another value which may or may-not relate to the community consensus.
