I am a Naturalist and self-taught Birder, who was born and raised in San Diego County. Over the course of my life, I have witnessed many changes to the SD County and have seen massive growth in population and development. I have always had a love and appreciation for nature, as part of my upbringing, but now I am making a concerted effort to participate more actively in the conservation and preservation of wildlife, open spaces, and nature. I am a current volunteer at the Buena Vista Lagoon Nature Center and member of the Buena Vista Audubon Society. I am also currently taking the California Naturalist Course offered through Preserve Calavera and UC NRA (University California Natural Resources and Agriculture). I am also taking science courses at Palomar College in San Marcos, CA. I love California and focus on its Natural History.

I also enjoy photographing nature and wildlife, especially birds. I am an avid surfer, hiker, and reader. I am learning to keep a nature journal, draw and paint wildlife as part of my nature study.
