This is believed to be the true Costus claviger as delineated by Paul Maas in his 1977 update to his monograph. This should not be confused with the terminal flowering C. aff. claviger from Peru and Ecuador. Plant collected in the Iwokrama Mountains of Guyana, later in flower in cultivation.
