Welcome to New York is Wild!

Welcome to New York is Wild! We're looking forward to exploring NYC's
invertebrate world with you over the coming year.

For our first exploration, we are asking you to let us know what
invertebrates are still active in your neighborhood. We have just been
through two major storms in a week (hurricane Sandy and this recent
snowstorm) and by this time of the year, most invertebrates have
either perished due to colder temperatures, migrated to warmer places,
or are already hibernating. However, there may still be some that
remain active. Look for plants that are in bloom to see if there are
bees or flies resting on the flowers; check sunny south-facing walls
for insects warming themselves; peak under rocks - and let us know
what you see.

If you need help getting started, we posted a short video here:

Happy hunting!
