It has found a red-shouldered hawk mate, though so far they seem to have not produced any offspring.

Beautiful brown centrally stipitate polypore growing gregariously, oft with conjoined caps; under burnt and fallen deciduous oak in ashy clay near A. menziesii and Pinus ponderosa. Pileus umbilicate, slightly zonate, fibrillose, cinnamon brown and with a margin of brown fibrous ornamentation. Hymenium slightly darker, more yellowish brown, lightest at the edges of the cap; pores bruising dark burnt umber brown.
