Pale and wildtype colors!
Across the channel I first noticed several feral cats lounging in the area, then saw these two show up to eat this catfood pile, then the two coyotes showed up and ate catfood while one of the cats crouched 2ft over...)

This leucistic individual is Salamander C. This one has been photographed and observed since 2010 many times by Don Scallen and it had at least been alive two years before that, making it thirteen years old- two years older then me!

From a vernal pool in the woods, on the limestone atop the escarpment. Dense zoochlorellae content. It has eyespots, so it's not Typhloplana. It reacted negatively to the condenser light, which made it difficult to photograph. The head is orange-yellow. The tail is simple and pointed. Glides on cilia. Extended length is 2.8 to 3 mm.

Sampling location: The soil sample was collected from the bank of a pond on the Bagaryak River, near the water. The soil was wet but gradually dried out.
Date and time of collection: September 8, 2023
The sample was stored in a sealed glass container at room temperature.
On November 20, 2023, at 1 PM, a small amount of this soil was mixed with clean water.
