This is a courting pair engaged in a tail-straddling walk in redwood forest habitat. They were found as seen in the photo on top of redwood duff near downed logs, no logs were turned over to find them. These 2 were found along the trail not far from the foot path. Ground vegetation was sparse and included redwood sorrel.
At this part of the trail it was foggy, with ~90% humidity, between 39-45°F, and moon phase was about full. A short rain event occurred within 24 hours.
