In thick duff of live oaks near edge of grassy area

Fruiting on a birch stump in Lithia Park.

Observed in the early morning hours under UV light.

Co-worker found it on the car.

Found group of three adults under piece of plywood. Juvenile also found under decaying wood within 3 foot vicinity

On a large Douglas fir-old growth. Sliced in half to show interior deep red/orange context. Used by native PNW tribes with grease for war and ceremonial paint(as the common name implies).

Above the Vulpicida

Plant ~6in tall with opposite clasping leaves that are dark green with pink veins and undulate purple margins. Growing in loose granitic soul on exposed slope alongside forest service road.

Tried germinating the seeds of this tree, but they seem not to germinate easily(none of them germinated).
