Description

There are 3 competing concepts for G. indicum, so this might not be it... but it does seem to be a non-trufflized species close to G. fuscoglebum, which does not open.

Description

Estero Llano Grande State Park. Found on larval hostplant Serjania brachycarpa. Larval hostplants are many and varied, including multiple genera of Sapindaceae (Urvillea, Serjania, and Cardiospermum); also Turk's Cap (Malvaviscus drummondii, Malvaceae), and unripe seeds of Mesquite (Neltuma spp., Fabaceae) and foliage of assorted trees including Hackberry (Celtis, Ulmaceae), Ash (Fraxinus, Oleaceae), and Brasil (Condalia hookeri, Rhamnaceae).

Larvae feed on the flowers and seedpods of many plants in the Fabaceae (Pea family), including Melilotus (Sweet Clover), Astragalus (Milkvetch), Prosopis (Mesquite), Vachellia rigidula (Blackbrush Acacia), Ebenopsis ebano (Texas Ebony), Dalea (Prairie Clover), Albizia (Silktree), Indigofera (Indigo), and Calliandra (Powderpuff/Fairy Duster) species.
