~5 mm with blood red coloration on 2/3 of mandibles with dark tips, orange femur joints and tarsi, orange tinted ventral side antennae flagellum, and orange and black abdominal bands. Light color short hairs on the last couple abdominal segments, on thorax, head, and legs. Found floating on a piece of wood in a bucket of water.

~3 mm body, ~4 with ovipositor. cell r1 has 3 marginal hyaline spots. AI is "pretty sure" this is Euaresta genus. Found on a Brittlebush; Encelia farinosa stem. No ragweed; ambrosia observed in the area.
