Predators and prey - the eternal cycle of life and death in the Masai Mara. Two young male lions (brothers) stalked a herd of cape buffalo. The female stood her ground and they took her down. It was a confronting, slow and brutal death. She never gave up and nearly regained her feet but eventually sucumbed to the strength and persistance of the youngsters . Masai Mara, Kenya. The zebra was injured during the river crossing but made it to shore. A leopard appeared from nowhere to finish it off, but then the croc came from the water for a standoff... the croc eventually backed down.
