I came across two of these wood rails on the water's edge of the Crooked Tree Lagoon... This bird moved into the vegetation... leaving the other standing in the shallows of the lagoon while both of them were communicating vigorously...
This bird then emerged from the bushes and walked quickly passed me (approx. 5m away) and back to the other bird in the water...
