Description

~7.5mm long
Curved lower edge of mesopleura, with no teeth.
One "spike" which I suspect is the tip of the ovi-positor. But unlike the Primeuchroeus sp we found in Lobethal, it was never extended; so not sure. Perhaps a male with a pseudostinger?

Notice the different coloured sheens in different lighting situations. So the blue sheen isn't a reliable diagnostic in photo's. Can be seen by the naked eye though.

Based on this discussion, I think this one has 7 teeth; more like 6 1/2 really as the middle one is much smaller the other 6.

As such I think it's Chrysis festina. If @villu agrees, I'll flag the genus to add the species.

Description

This is the first time we've found this species on Ellura, but they are known in SA previously.
A Fleshfly-mimicking Bristle Fly
@carnifex Lorin, thought you might find this interesting, given you helped us in the past with our fleshfly id https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/104012548

It parasitised a moth that we caught, which cocooned the same day. The fly emerged exactly 5 weeks from when the moth pupated.
