Large, black ursid. Unmistakable. He exited the forest about 200 yards from us (Jim Cronin and I) and began walking away from us down the Jericho Ditch trail to a large loblolly pine, where he scratched for a while. He was walking around the area of the tree, when he seemed to notice us finally, standing on his hind legs, sniffing the air, and looking around.

Taken with short lens. I wanted to include how close the alligator was to that parking lot. I'm sure this is not news to Floridians but even though I have now seen tons of alligators in Georgia, it's still surprising to me to see how close they are to people, developed areas, etc.
