Observed this delicate beauty growing on the shoreline of Lee Lake. This specimen is not more than 40 cm in height and has just flowered in the past couple of days. I have observed these a meter or more in height in some areas.

Description

L. papilioniferum (L) growing next to L. klickitatense (R) in restored quarry. The quarry was restored using seed collected at Rock Creek (near Mosier) and Hog Canyon (aka Rowena Dell), both populations of L. klickitatense. L. papilionifera is from extensive population adjacent to the quarry. Foliage detail photos for both plants included.
