Description

This organism appears to be of the Genus Pachydiplax, known by the common name the blue dasher.

Visual description: It is approximately 4.5 centimeters long with a narrow blue and yellow body, as well as transparent wings and large red eyes. This organism is a protosome and was found in a local park near a swamp and forest reserve.

Defining characteristics: A notable characteristic of this species is the powder blue coloring on the body, as well as the amber color on the wing base. It also has four total wings, which is common in the dragonfly family.

Habitat: This species usually lives in or around ponds and marshes, making Florida wetlands a suitable habitat.
