Individual showing characteristics usually regarded as a result of hybridization between Egretta garzetta and Egretta gularis: medium grey plumage all over the body, except for some whitish areas around the eyes and some light streaks at the base of the primaries and secondaries. Feet yellow as in Egretta garzetta.

Compared to rubripes, overall paler aspect to the plumage, with warmer tones, paler crown, and warm buffy unstreaked throat and chin. Yellow bill with prominent black spot at the gape also a pro-fulvigula feature. Did not get a good look at the spread wing, but paler more turquoise tone of the speculum at some angles looked different to either rubripes or platyrhynchos. Did not see the thin white trailing edge evident in photos taken by others. No obvious signs of hybridization with platyrhynchos, such as white in tail or curly black uppertail coverts. Hard not to conclude this is fulvigula.
