Small mammal morphologically close to a squirrel, but smaller, presenting white lines along the eyes and the back, five black lines on the back, a short straight tail, a gray and brown coloration. The individual was an eastern chipmunk.

The individual was grazing near Raymond building, very calm. The medium sized mammal had a long flat body on short legs, had black fur ornamented with two white stripes. This pushed me to ID the animal to the species level Mephitis mephitis.

The bat flew out of a bush where chickadees were alarming, then dived into the snow. It stayed there for approximately 5min, moving its head around in the snow, as if eating something or drinking snow. I thought it was going to die, but it crawled on the snow and started flying again.
