Large number growing on North side of Hwy 62 0.25 miles west of Kings River Bridge. Grassy area also with chicorium intybus and campsis radicans. Attracting many insects and butterflies.
These plants were growing in the Ouachita Mountains, along a small creek. The colony was about 2 x 4 yds. and was growing in a cut with steep sides that were only about 25-30 yds. across. This was apparently near an old mining road, but there were no homes in the area. Since there would surely be occasional flooding at the site, this was not a likely site for an old homestead.
