UPDATE:
I found put what these are, they are pea plant nodules! They are root cells of the pea plant in a sybiotic relationship with bacteria that fix nitrogen. That's what makes pea plants so important for the nitrogen cycle.
Found in the soil of my garden, looks like some kind of fungus or lichen maybe? I really don't know though, it's firm overall, but flexible, feels like grabbing a mushroom.
Update, I left them sitting in the sun for about a day and a half, and they dried out, looked kinda dead, but when put in water they rehydrated quickly. I added more photos.
