It is Ground Hog’s Day 2022, and I’m preparing for “hard freeze in New Braunfels/San Antonio area (high teens-low 20’s)…and here is a Gulf Fritillary caterpillar enjoying tender new shoots on my “Lavender Lady” Passion Flower vine.
Temps beginning to warm and sun shining after several days/nights of winter storm here in San Antonio/NEw Braunfels area. This caterpillar is smaller than the one spotted just before the storm. (1 cm).
Very small (3-4 mm) caterpillar. Also survived winter storm on Lady Lavender passionflower.
Perhaps 2.5 cm. Also survived winter storm on Lady Lavender. This may be the caterpillar identified before the storm.
