Syrian Bluet (Coenagrion syriacum)Observer

Recently found a group of coenagrion damselflies in my local park. I presume it can be survived C. syriacum micropopulation. The most recent local syriacum observations in gbif database are made in 1959 and 1972. After that "Arapsuyu wetland" was developed into modern Konyaaltı residential area. Excess water volume is being drained into the sea through a canal network. A very small piece of wildlife is tied to one of these canals and now is a part of Akdeniz Kent parkı.

Note how water-repellent these animals are: the female is largely below the general water surface, yet she is bending, not breaking, the water surface. Any physicist out there? please correct my limited understanding of surface-tension. Many thanks
