Pretty sure of the family based on the web it made overnight, before release. First time encounter for me and first time I've ever seen evidence of this family in Barbados (not saying they've not been around all along!)
The silk in the web was some of the strongest I've ever handled.

This is my guess, based on what little detail I could determine - these are likely some kind of pupae from some kind of insect. However, while they look like those of a parasitoid wasp, they seem to be attached to decaying plant material, best I can tell. Could be the remains of a former host but that seems unlikely.
Whatever they are, a truly fascinating find. First spotted by one of my nephews, who thought they were eggs.
