I saw tiny black and gold bees swarming around a dried up Late Boneset plant's leaves. No flowers remained anywhere on the plant, so they weren't there for pollen.

There were about half a dozen of these bees nectaring on Baptisia nuttalliana. Very small--I cropped the photo so the tiny mite and ant could be seen although a size comparison is probably more obvious with the flower.

Foraging on Yaupon Holly. Same size as the Western Honey Bees who were nearby, but this one was red to the naked eye in this lighting, and waist was very thin.
