Can't be the other Smilax reported nearby, S. tamnoides, because it only has large widely spaced spines.
It looks like the fruit bunch may actually just be caught on the stem rather than attached but pretty sure it is from the same vine. Only noticed once I saw the picture on screen at home.

Description
This hawk sat on a limb of the Tulip Tree for half an hour. The wind was gusting to 45 mph! There weren’t many birds around.
