male coyote eating someone's take out. le sigh. did my best to clean up the mess but coyote stuck around until I left and finished what I missed.
@js_young just fyi
Saw one adult and one pup on the island.
Saw this coyote chase down and catch a squirrel. It ate most of the squirrel, leaving behind just the tale and what looked like the stomach (see images). Collected fur.
One had double pink ear tags. Saw both of them take turns eating what appeared to be left over bbq ribs that someone left in a burnpit.
Saw this coyote crossing the baseball fields to check out the periphery. Poked around a bit and then went and laid down on a hillside. Didn't seem to care about people and dogs in the area, and the crows that were doing top-gun style fly bys didn't faze it. The coyote kept an eye on a few off-leash dogs in the area, but when the dogs moved on the coyote relaxed. You can see in the pictures that as on-leash dogs go by, it's pretty unfazed.
gopher-ing, no collar or tags
dead on road. photo from animal care and control. female
Red tag - left ear only. Collar. Prey - gopher.
This smaller coyote (1st picture) got separated from the larger coyote in the 2nd picture and went the long way around the people on the trail to eventually catch up with the larger coyote.
Was bird watching when I noticed there was a coyote sitting right below where I was standing. It was a hot day and the coyote appeared to be cooling off in a shaded depression.
This little guy was just enjoying the vista
