Not this frog's first rodeo. The garter snake pictured arrived hastily and made a number of clumsy, violent lunges at the gathering of frogs sitting on this log. Despite the situation being about as easy as fish-in-a-barrel (frogs-in-a-pond?), the snake missed every time, then retreated, presumably ashamed of the unforced errors. This particular frog sat calmly through the whole event, never retreating like its compatriots.
This particular frog was also previously submitted to the ORAA as Obs ID# 457837.

This is the current status of operation evict possum & prepare owl house for this season. Baby probably not going to leave until dark. So had to put my ladder back up until my helper can return tomorrow. I was able to pull most of the leaves out but the remaining was going to make Baby fall and that is high. If Baby returns early in the morning in spite of the door being left open, then I guess it is leather gloves and towel time. Of course, the towel part didn't occur to me until my helper had left for the day. No hissing & no attempt to bite even when I gently put the end of a large stick barely inside the open mouth so I could pull leaves out that were around Baby.

Owl Or Baby Yoda?
Yesterday in late afternoon, Frick woke up & peeked out to see if it was safe to show himself. I just happened to be out at the time. Ran in for my camera & got this shot as he raised up enough for me to see his eyes. Almost burst out laughing because he looked like Baby Yoda with his ear tufts that way.
