Description
This has not been observed by me but someone posted this confused becuase it was an alligator gar in saltwater with a remora on it, i am confused as well so could someone possibly explain this?

In a pond isolated from the rest of the swamp. Seemed more like spotted Gar habitat, but could also be a shortnose, first one I’ve ever caught this small

Description
Melanistic Alligator Gar (rare!) — Was caught during a fishing trip and fortunately released back to the water easily. (It actually removed the hook itself; it never left the water thankfully)
