Deviation from POWO; see comments |
@loarie
As far as I'm aware we are going to deviate from POWO to Lode here given that @najera_tutor created the taxon. I think @kai_schablewski, @wolfgangb and @aidancampos also agree on this. Personally I'd like to leave it in Lobivia but I suspect I'll be out voted.
I was going to update the taxon relationship for this sp. so would I point the external taxon to POWO or to Lode? If the latter how?
OK I made a deviation https://www.inaturalist.org/taxon_framework_relationships/285792 which splits Reicheocactus off from Echinopsis and splits Echinopsis famatimensis into 2 as Reicheocactus pseudoreicheanus and Reicheocactus bonnieae
is this how you want it?
with most taxa when there are just a few deviations from POWO its easier to have discussions/votes about each. But Cactaceae is the one vascular plant family where we have a huge issue in terms of not being well mapped to POWO. Doing so would either take creating a bunch of taxon changes to bring iNat in line with POWO (which sounds like no one is keep to do) or to create lots of deviations to map from POWO to what we have here on iNat. I'm eager to get started on that process since its going to take so much work
See http://www.plantsoftheworldonline.org/?q=Reicheocactus. OK to follow POWO or are there proposals to deviate?
