Figure 1 here is maybe the most clear illustration of what's going on here. Notice the color-coded tribe names on the right side. Notice tribe Xyleborini, in green about 3/4 down the page, and tribe Scolytini in red at the very bottom. Xyleborini should clearly not be treated as a subtribe of Scolytini.

This 2015 chapter is also a good resource, since it has a table of all accepted Scolytinae tribes (as of 2015) in the Appendix on page 133, with Xyleborini starting on page 139.

I agree in the proposal of @bouteloua. The concept of Xyleborina within Scolytini is unknown to, and got unnoticed by me. Will do the swap.
