According to PoWo, GBIF and others, there should be two "i"'s in the species epithet. This would then match the original description (https://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/item/107662#page/85/mode/1up)
I note that it is spelled correctly in the variety name, of which there are actually five currently recognised, and not just one.
