I support his change too, for the species and the subspecies.
Taxon swaps drafted here :
subsp. acaulon : https://www.inaturalist.org/taxon_changes/139649
subsp. gregarium : https://www.inaturalist.org/taxon_changes/139650
species : https://www.inaturalist.org/taxon_changes/139648
ok for me - was more curious why it has been originaly swaped from acaulon to acaule on Inat.
Would be good to have @jdmore opinion that did this change
At this point I have to assume that the folks at IPNI and POWO did their due diligence and concluded that acaulon is the proper epithet termination under the Code. I don't have time to independently verify, so am happy to go with their conclusion, and hope that it doesn't change again in another 6 years.
And thanks @t_e_d for noting the needed subspecies changes too.
Ok thanks, so i let @t_e_d commit swaps
POWO has finaly updated "Cirsium acaule" as Cirsium acaulon
https://powo.science.kew.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:30076919-2
https://www.ipni.org/n/30076919-2
But Cirsium acaulon used to be swaped into Cirsium acaule
