Description: The Bald Eagle is one of our largest raptors. The adults have a distinct white head and tail contrasting their dark body. The Bald Eagle flies with its long wings out flat. Juveniles are dark brown with spots of white all over.

Habitat: Found near lakes, rivers, and coasts where there are abundant trees for perching and for nesting.

Fun Facts: It takes five years for an immature Bald Eagle to gain the full white head and tail of a mature adult.
