Description: Western Bluebirds are a bright blue above with a rusty red patch on their breast and back. The females are duller, but still attractive.

Habitat: Open woodlands and meadows.
Fun Facts: The Western Bluebirds are native to the San Juans, but disappeared due to habitat loss. A reintroduction project has brought a breeding population of Bluebirds back to the islands.
