The Black Swamp Snake (Seminatrix pygaea) is a small, shiny black, highly aquatic snake of the southeastern United States. Its food includes leeches, small fish, worms, tadpoles, and small salamanders such as Dwarf Sirens (Pseudobranchus striatus) (Conant and Collins 1991).
